About Pine Tree Trail

Hua Tat’s Pine Tree Trail was created in 2002 as part of a government initiative. The trees on the hills were planted by the villagers using seeds given to them. After many years, the place has transformed into a beautiful park that is used for gatherings and celebrations.

If you're looking for a breezy and simple yet scenic trek, then this trail is for you! Hike through the rustic pine tree forests on the hills just outside Hua Tat and be rewarded at the summit with a picturesque view of the valley.

Trekking Tips

What to Expect

Take this opportunity to retreat from bustling fast-paced city life and surround yourself with nature and the cool, refreshing air of the highlands.

While trekking to the top of the hill, you will get to see different types of plantations and animals. Towards the end of the trail, you will pass by the villagers’ houses and get a chance to interact with the friendly Hmong villagers.

  1. Be prepared to take lots of photographs as the view at the top of the hill is simply breath-taking!

  2. If you are feeling lost, follow the yellow arrow signages at the different trekking junctions.

  3. Do note that there are parts of the trekking route that are steep and gravelly.  Slow down as there are no supportive railings.

What to Wear

It is important to wear a pair of comfortable sports shoes with good grip. The soil may be muddy and slippery at times.
